If you were a fan of the custom-built Hyundai Genesis Coupes built for last years SEMA Show, were pretty sure youre going to love what the Korean automaker has in store for this years show. Renderings of the first concept, a track-ready variant called the Hyundai Genesis Coupe R-Spec Track Edition, have been released along with some details on the build.

Rather than going the forced-induction route to make more power, this Genesis Coupe goes old school with a stroker kit (crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons) to add displacement. The net result is 395 horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque from its 3.8-liter V-6, further helped by an ARK Performance intake, lightweight pulleys and ceramic-coated headers. Helping to keep engine temps in line at the track, the build includes an ARK Performance oil cooler.

Its hard to miss the changes to the Genesis Coupes bodywork, which include a carbon fiber hood, front splitter, winglets, massive rear fender flares, a carbon fiber trunk and a carbon fiber rear wing. Its a bit much for the street, but were sure the added downforce will help with your time attack or autocross runs.

The interior was redone by JPM Coachworks to suit the cars intended mission, and includes Sparco racing seats, a Sparco steering wheel and a Cusco 8-point roll cage. It sounds to us like the car retains amenities like air conditioning and an audio system, though well need to see the finished product to be sure.

While the ARK Performance build is the first Hyundai Genesis Coupe concept shown for SEMA, were sure it wont be the last. Look for others to debut in the coming weeks.
